What to Expect: Your Child's First 'Try-Me' Woodworking Session

Taking the first step into a woodworking shop can be intimidating for both parents and children. That's why we created the StuDIYo 'Try-Me' Session—a low-pressure, high-fun introduction to the world of making.

Step 1: The Safety Induction (15 Mins)

Every journey starts with safety. We introduce our 'Safety-First' culture, teaching children how to respect the workshop environment and their fellow makers. We explain the 'Blood Bubble' and fit them with their first set of professional PPE.

Step 2: Tool Familiarization (20 Mins)

We don't just show tools; we let children feel them. Under close supervision, they'll learn the difference between a cross-cut and a pull-cut, and practice driving their first few nails into scrap wood to find their rhythm.

Step 3: The Mini-Project (45 Mins)

In their very first session, your child won't just watch—they'll build. They will complete a small, functional project (like a personalized keychain or a simple puzzle) that they get to take home that very day.

Step 4: The 'Maker' Reflection (10 Mins)

We end every session with a quick debrief. What was the hardest part? What did they learn? This reinforces the educational value of the workshop and builds that crucial sense of achievement.
